Public Transportation
Taxi
As for public transportation in Daegu, there are buses, taxis and subway system. Taxis are a popular form of public transportation in Korea. There are 2 types of taxis: regular taxis and deluxe taxis. The fare for regular taxis is calculated from both the distance traveled and the time taken. Fares increase 20% between midnight and 4a.m. Fares are KRW1,800 for the first 2 kilometers and are metered depending on both distance and time traveled. Vacant taxis are indicated with a signed lamp on their front window. Tips are not required.

Clothing

Daegu is especially famous because of its hot summers. The weather is most likely expected to be hot and sometimes very humid during the time of this Symposium. Many buildings are cooled by air-conditioning. While spending time outside, protect your self from sunburn, always be on the lookout for intermittent showers (the occasional typhoon is also a possibility). It is recommended to bring light clothing and an umbrella.

Electricity
Outlets for 220 volts are dominant in Korea. Always check the power supply outlets before using your equipment. Round 2-pin sockets are compatible with French and German ones.
