The XXIII International Symposium on Lepton and Photon Interactions at High Energy (LP07) will be held at the Daegu Exhibition & Convention Center (EXCO) in Daegu, Korea, August
13-18, 2007. The Symposium will begin on Monday, August 13, 2007, and conclude Saturday, August 18, 2007, with a break on Wednesday, August 15. The EXCO, where the Symposium will be held, is located near Kyungpook National University.

The LP07 is sponsored by the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP) and is organized under the auspices of the Center for High Energy Physics (CHEP), Kyungpook National University.

Participation in the Symposium is by invitation only. Invitations will be extended to scientists nominated by the IUPAP Country Coordinators.

Scientific Program
The Symposium consists of plenary talks reviewing the current state of heavy quark physics, neutrinos, electroweak physics, proton structure, QCD, lattice, strings and branes, astroparticle physics, cosmology and new particle searches, and the presentation of future perspectives including physics at energy frontier accelerators.
Papers and Posters
· Contributed Paper Submission
All abstract and paper submissions will be handled electronically via our website at from March 3, 2007 to July 13, 2007. The author, titles, abstracts, and links to the papers will be available on the LP07 web site. The list of accepted papers (but not the papers themselves) will be included in the proceedings. Papers should be submitted by July 13, 2007, so invited speakers may review them before the Symposium. Papers will be publicly available as soon as they are submitted. Papers can be viewed on the Los Alamos Archive web site at your leisure. Please keep in mind that abstracts must be submitted prior to paper submissions.

Copies of all presentations will be accessible via the Symposium website at the conclusion of the Symposium. Written proceedings of the Symposium will be published.

· Poster Session and Best Poster Award
In order to encourage participation by younger physicists, there will be a poster session with additional Symposium invitations reserved for the poster presenters. Applications for the poster session and abstracts must be submitted online, and a short CV submitted directly to the program secretariat by e-mail. The deadline is April 30, 2007. Posters prepared by participants and invited from particle physics laboratories will be on display during the poster session, Thursday, August 16 and Friday, August 17, 2007. A list of accepted posters will appear in the proceedings. The Symposium will also feature a Best Poster Award, which will be presented at the close of conference.

Financial Support
A limited amount of financial support will be available for young physicists and for individuals from developing countries. Both partial and full support will be awarded. Participants interested in applying for financial support should send the following material to LP07@knu.ac.kr :

a) An application Form (to be sent upon request)
b) A short Curriculum Vitae
c) A brief letter of recommendation

The deadline for receipt of the material is May 15, 2007.
Visa Arrangements
Any foreign visitors wishing to enter the Republic of Korea must have a valid passport and obtain a Korean visa before coming. People of certain countries who want to visit Korea temporarily are permitted to enter without a visa. You can find the information on the Korean Immigration Bureau website; http://www.immigration.go.kr/indeximmeng.html. If you need a letter in order to obtain a Korean visa, please contact the Symposium Secretariat at LP07@knu.ac.kr or fax at +82-53-746-9007.
Registration will start on March 5, 2007. To register, please use the on-line registration system found on the LP07 website at http://chep.knu.ac.kr/LP07/htm/s08_01_01.htm.
A registration form is included in this bulletin for those who are not able to access to the web. Fill out the form and then send a fax to the following number +82-53-746-9007 or +82-53-742-9007.

The invitees who are not able to participate at the conference are asked to notify LP07@knu.ac.kr, to make it possible for us to extend invitations to other delegates. Registrations received without payment will not be processed or confirmed until payment has been received in full.

Please remember that the registration fee will not cover accommodations, banquet (although a small portion of your registration fee will be applied toward the banquet), conference lunches, and LP07 conference tours. Registered accompanying persons are entitled to attend reception, concert, group tour, and banquet.
· Payment methods
All prices are quoted in USD ($) or KRW (\). Payment in any other currency will not be accepted.
By credit card
Visa, Master Card and American Express are the only credit cards accepted. Please enter all relevant information on the registration form. It is also imperative that the name of the credit card holder is clearly mentioned if it differs from the name of the registrant. Please note that your monthly credit card statement will indicate payment made to “INICIS” or “이니시스” in Korea.

By bank transfer

Bank charges are the responsibility of the participant and should be paid in addition to registration fees. The bank transfer must clearly state the name of the conference and the name of the participant, as unidentified bank transfers cannot be processed. Participants are also requested to send a copy of the bank remittance receipt with their registration form to the Conference Secretariat by e-mail at LP07@knu.ac.kr or by fax at +82 53 746 9007.

· Confirmation of registration

Registration will be acknowledged by email within minutes after submitting the online form. The final confirmation letter will be sent by email within a week upon receipt of full payment, including a confirmation of your requirements according to the submitted registration form. We strongly recommend presenting this confirmation letter upon arrival at the onsite pre-registration desks in order to collect your name badge and conference materials in the most efficient manner possible. If you have not received an E-mail confirming official registration within a week, please contact the Conference Secretariat at LP07@knu.ac.kr or at +82 53 746 9007.
· Cancellation conditions
Any cancellation of registration must be communicated to the Conference Secretariat by e-mail (LP07@knu.ac.kr) or by fax (+ 82 53 746 9007) and will be subject to the following conditions:

For cancellations received by May 30, 2007 :
90% of full registration fee will be refunded (10% administrative charge required)

For cancellations received from May 31~July 31, 2007 :
50% of the full registration fee will be refunded

For cancellations received after July 31 :
No refund will be provided (including cancellation of social events). In addition, No-shows to the conference will be charged the full fee as well.

All refunds will be processed after the conference and all bank service charges will be deducted from the refunded amount. Requests for reimbursements must be sent in writing. Refunds will be processed until the end of October 2007.
For all participants and accompanying persons of LP07, the organizing committee has reserved sufficient rooms at hotels listed below at discounted rates. Please reserve your hotel during the registration procedure. Hotel reservation will be handled through Professional Convention Organizer.

Special Programs
Several programs are planed for symposium delegates, which will provide opportunities for participants to mingle and enjoy a leisurely time with their colleagues. More details will be available in the second bulletin.

Companion´s Program (Korean Traditional Paper Craft Class)
Experience the joy of making your very own traditional Korean paper craft in the customary ways of Korean artisans. This will not only be a learning experience but a good opportunity to create a meaningful a souvenir for someone special back home. This event will be held Tuesday, August 14 and again on Thursday, August 16. We expect a high turn out, as this is usually very popular, so register early.
Transportation to and from every airport is available by limousine, car rental, or taxi. The Symposium will provide shuttle-bus service to and from EXCO, the conference venue, and hotels, on a daily basis. Public transportation to EXCO and taxi services are available. If you are not taking the Symposium shuttle and wish to drive to EXCO, there are limited parking areas available inside and near EXCO. You can use the parking areas located in and around the EXCO. Indoor parking is approximately KRW 4,000, outside parking is free.
The organizing committee plans to offer all participants opportunities to enjoy Korean culture through guided tour programs at a reasonable charge. Pre/post conference tours, tours for accompanying persons, and daily city tours will all be made available during the course of this year´s event.ㄴㄴ

Local Information
· Kyungpook National University
The University is located in the northeastern section of Daegu. The spacious campus is spread out across a hill, overlooking the city. Transportation to the main campus is very convenient using the main city bus lines and subway, and can be reached within 15 minutes from the city center.

· Weather
The weather is expected to be hot and humid in Daegu during the time of this Symposium. While spending time outside, protect your self from sunburn and always be on the lookout for intermittent showers.
